Hi, I’m Leah
I am so excited to be on this beautiful new journey with you and your furry family members. I would like to begin by telling you a little bit about myself. I am happily married, and I have 5 beautiful children ranging from a Marine to a four-year-old. I moved to the Batesville/Cave City area in 2014. I am originally from Pocahontas, Arkansas. I attended and earned a certificate in training at Animal Behavior College. I also have experience with behavior modification from Charlotte Mallion. I have plans to continue my training and grow with the needs of my customers.
My love for animals began at 6 years old when I began working with my dad raising and training Coon dogs. By age seven, I was training Rat Terriers for squirrel hunting. I have two rottweilers, my oldest girl is named Halo, which inspired the name of my training and boarding business. Training Halo reinforced my love for training dogs so much that I decided to start my own business which leads me to where I am today. I recently created and built a boarding facility with a play yard and outside runs. I offer animal behavioral training along with dog and cat boarding. To read more about my facilities and business, go to my "Dog Training" and "Pet Boarding" pages located on this website. I look forward to working with you and your animals for your training or boarding needs. If you have any questions just send me an email or give me a call.
Sincerely,
Leah Sager
We offer Canine & Feline Boarding
Need a responsible and caring person to look after your pets? You’re in the right place! I’ve always been an animal owner and love all animals, big and small. Put my experience to the test and let me take care of your precious pet.
Our Boarding Area
We are proud to announce that we have added a brand new modern boarding facility to our services. Our facilities offer kennels in a temperature-controlled environment. Each pet can have their own personal kennel with a soft comfortable bed, fresh clean water, love, and a lot of hugs. Or, if your pet is medium to small, they may share a kennel with one other fur baby family member if they prefer.
Our Playgrounds
Halo Hills offers a large fenced in playground and runners divided into different areas to cater to the size and needs of our canine friends. We have a separate dedicated specific area designed for our small breeds to interact, socialize, and just have fun, while separated from the larger breeds and under the watchful eye of our caring and dedicated staff.
You Have Asked
We Have Answered
What is the difference between boarding and kenneling?
Whereas kennels essentially establish temporary holding locations for pets who are at the location for a specific service, pet boarding facilities work hard to treat pets like they are important and well-loved family members.
Our goal is to make sure your dog is well taken care of, and we treat them as if they were our own! We love taking care of your canine or feline friends and are dedicated to their safety and happiness. If you are looking for safe dog and cat boarding facility that feels more like a home away from home, then you have found the right place!
Monday Night Classes
Halo Hills offers basic obedience group classes for families who desire to train their dogs around other people and dogs for socialization purposes. Attendees can be at their own stage of training and do not have to keep up with the other group members. The class attendance can be flexible as needed. The classes will include group work and one on one time. There will be 8 consecutive classes every Monday night at 6:30 pm. We will offer Tuesday night classes when we have enough on the waiting list to add the additional night. If there are cancellations due to bad weather, we will let you know.
All dogs must be up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and must show proof before the class begins. See the list of vaccine requirements below. This class is for non- aggressive dogs only. Ask us about private classes if your dog has aggressive issues. Commands covered in these group classes will be typical obedience commands. These classes are for puppies 4 months and older.
The classes are held at the Humane Society of Independence County located at
5 Environmental Drive, Batesville, AR. 72501. They have been so kind to allow us to use their outside facilities for our classes. If you have a chance, please let them know you appreciate them for all their support in making these classes happen. They accept donations as well.
Please read our policies before purchasing these classes.

Our History
Harvard and Floy Harp founded Harps in 1930. They started the first store with $500 in cash that Harvard had saved while working in the citrus industry in California. The first store was Harps Cash Grocery and was located in Springdale, AR. Over the next 34 years they remodeled, expanded, and moved to bigger buildings as their business continued to grow.
By the early 1950's, Harvard and Floy's oldest son, Don, had joined them in the business. In 1964 Harps became a small chain when the second store was opened in North Springdale.
By the mid 1960's, Don's brothers, Gerald and Reland, were also very involved in managing the Company with Reland handling the accounting duties and Gerald the operations. Don became CEO and President in 1968 at the death of his father and continued to guide Harps with the help of his brothers. In the early 80's, Reland retired, and in 1995, Don retired, and Gerald Harp assumed the duties of CEO and President. In 2000, Gerald retired as Chairman and CEO and Roger Collins was named CEO. In 2016, Roger stepped down as CEO and was replaced by Kim Eskew, the President, but continued to serve as Chairman of the Board. In 2018, Roger retired and Kim accepted the role as Chairman in addition to President and CEO.
In 2001, the Company did a leveraged buy-out with the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) purchasing outstanding stock from the family and management. Since becoming employee-owned, the stock price has increased from $27 per share in 2001 to $445 per share at the end of fiscal 2018. Harps is the largest employee-owned company headquartered in Arkansas and the 30th largest in the United States.
