  • The Cherokee Village Ladies Golf Association will be hosting their bi-annual “Hot Pink” 4-Gal Scramble this coming Wednesday at CV South Golf Course. The Scramble will welcome 25 teams this Wednesday with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Awareness within the state of Arkansas. Teams are traveling from 23 other Arkansas towns & cities to participate: Horseshoe Bend, Paragould, Jonesboro, Cabot, Marked Tree, Trumann, Osceola, Beebe, North Little Rock, Pocahontas, Hoxie, Piggott, Reyno, Norfork, Flippin, Cotter, Bull Shoals, Greenway, Marianna, Newport, Batesville, Mountain Home & Nimmons. 84 of the 100 players are from out of town. Many, many “Thank-you’s” to our Cherokee Village Ladies for hosting this event – for exposing the Cherokee Village South Course to other golfers, the Quad-Cities area to folks from out of town & most certainly for raising funds for a worthy cause..knowing that all the funds raised WILL stay within the state of Arkansas.
  • Several golfing activities over the next 2 weeks with tournaments, golf groups traveling to CV and corporate outings… so here we go:
  • Wednesday, Oct. 4th… South Closed for Hot Pink Tournament until approximately 2:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 4th.. there will not be any rental carts available at the North Course… 28 players playing 18-holes beginning to tee off around 9:00 a.m. The #1 tee will be closed from 9:00 till approx. 10:30 a.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 5th… 16 players at CV North for 18-holes around 10:30 am.
  • Friday, Oct. 6th… 16 players at CV South for 36-holes at 8:00 a.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 7th.. Property Owner Tournament at CV North.. 9:00 shotgun
  • Saturday, Oct. 7th.. 16 players for 36-holes at CV South at 8:00 a.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 8th.. 16 players for 18-holes at CV North at 8:00 a.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 8th.. 28 players at CV South for 18-holes at 8:00 a.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 12th… North Arkansas Electric Co-op “Operation Round-Up” tournament at CV South. 11:00 a.m. shotgun for this one. Non-tournament players can play before the shotgun at 11:00 a.m. but will need to be off the course by 10:45 a.m.
… and you all thought golf season was over !!!!! Best time of the year to play !
But we sure do need some rain. FYI – there is a burn ban in Cherokee Village at this time.
  • Remember –  the deadline for the 2017 CV Property Owner 4-per Scramble is this coming Thursday at 5:00 p.m. The entry form is attached. Saturday, Oct. 7th at CV North.
  • Saturday, Oct. 28th there is a fund raiser for the CV Tornado Sirens at the CV Senior Center in Town Center from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The cost is $10 per person for spaghetti, green beans, dessert & beverage.
  • Saturday, Oct. 28th is also Village Pride annual Fall Roadside Clean-up day. Village Prides members will have trash bags, trash picker-uppers & safety vests available for those that need them. Volunteers can meet at the King-Rhodes building for street assignments – – it’s a fun day walking the streets of CV knowing that you are doing a good thing for beauty of the Village + getting some exercise !!! Lunch will be provided for those volunteering that day at the King-Rhodes building. Start time is 9:00 a.m… but you can arrive earlier if needed. CV is 13,000 acres – – there are enough drives, circles, traces, lanes & roads for everyone to have a spot – – Village Pride is a great organization and if you aren’t a part of the group, we’d love to have you become a participant !!!
  • All US Flags are to be lowered to half staff through sunset Friday, Oct. 6th for the victims and causalities in Las Vegas.
